Cafeology

Cafeology is a sustainable coffee company founded in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 2003 by Bryan Unkles and Andy McClatchey.

 â€‹

The business was born from Bryan’s recognition of a gap in the UK’s out of home market for ethically sourced coffee and has since grown into one of the largest independently owned coffee companies in the UK.

The name Cafeology comes from two separate words Cafe and ology resulting in a ‘coffee branch of knowledge’. All our coffees are grown in Spanish speaking countries where the word Cafe is the translation from Coffee. The definition of the wording of ology is ‘a branch of knowledge’. As coffee is grown on trees, it seemed like a perfectly suited match and Cafeology was born.

Our Cow Molly

In 1947 my grandad Hector Andrew started our dairy farm. We are located in Dungworth on the top of one of the seven Hills Sheffield is built on.

When my grandad first started delivering his bottled milk in Sheffield, a pint of milk had the same value as a loaf of bread and a pint of beer.

We have been producing our ice cream since 2007 and have had great support from the people of Sheffield.

Our Cow Molly ice cream is made with our farm’s milk and cream, to which we add only the best quality ingredients, we look forward to you visiting our home

Longley Farm

At Longley Farm, quality and goodness come naturally and are the hallmarks of our independent dairy built on traditional family values, something for which Yorkshire is famous.

These values have been vital in helping us create a range of dairy products which are enjoyed in Yorkshire and around the world, thanks to their natural goodness and high quality.

Moss Valley Fine Meats

Moss Valley Fine Meats is a family-run butchery located in the Moss Valley near the Sheffield/ Derbyshire county boundary that rears pigs for its own butchery at Povey Farm. The farm has been family-owned for over a century, with the 5th Generation Farming here

From the time Karen and her husband Stephen started out in pigs in 1982 they have not wanted to use antibiotics routinely.

For her work on antibiotic reduction, Karen has received the outstanding achievement award for the UK pig industry.

The business produces pork, bacon, ham, and sausages, including award-winning varieties like the Lincolnshire Sausage which was shortlisted for the UK Sausage Week 2025 awards.

The stock that goes through the Moss Valley Fine Meats brand are the only pigs in the world to carry the Made In Sheffield mark.

Ginger Butchers

Our family – Gill, Tom and Ed – are now the third and fourth generations of farmers and butchers in the Armstrong family.

We combine the best of the traditional farming values we have inherited from our parents and grandparents with a desire to keep improving what we do and looking to the future.

We are proud of our heritage, our farm, and the superb meat and home-made produce we provide for our customers in Bakewell and the surrounding area. This is our life – and we bring a huge amount of passion, skill and experience to everything we do.

At Ginger Butchers, we are passionate about what we do and committed to providing the highest standards in every aspect. In the way we look after our animals, how we hang our meat, and in the skills we bring to our butchery and bakery.

Abbeydale Brewery

An independent brewery founded in 1996 and employee owned since 2024, we like to think that we blend creativity and innovation with heritage and tradition, reflecting these values across our beers.

We truly believe in the power of beer as a mechanism to bring people together. As a team, we celebrate beer in all its forms, and are committed to continually improving our collective skills, training and equipment to constantly evolve and make our beer the very best it can be.

We’re also keen to ensure our beers are able to be consumed by all those who would like to try them, and so we offer a wide range of vegan products, as well as many of our beers being labelled as gluten free.

Bradfield Brewery

Based on a busy working farm in the picturesque village of Bradfield in the Peak District, Bradfield Brewery have gone from milking 100 cows a day to brewing over 100,000 pints of beer a week!

Our farming roots remain a huge part of our identity, and we love celebrating this through our beers. Farmers Blonde, which became our flagship ale, was named after the Blonde d’Aquitaine breed of cow, and many of our other beers follow the same theme.

While we embrace new trends and innovations, our brand is all about keeping cherished traditions alive – meeting friends at the pub, pint in hand, and having a natter. Our session ales are the perfect companion for these moments – a true taste of tradition.

Cheese & Friends

Our locally renowned cheese shop at Ecclesall-Sheffield, has been serving the local community with a wide range of British and Continental cheese since the 1980's. The range has grown during recent years with a focus on British Farmhouse and Artisan cheeses.

It is our Cheese that is the star of the show, a significant proportion made on the farm, many using raw milk, showing the skill, passion and dedication of the cheesemaker.

Supporting the British Farmhouse cheese industry is at a critical time and it is important that small scale artisan producers are maintained. As a cheesemonger, we have a relationship with our suppliers, the community and its valued customers. Our lovely cheeses are enhanced by a partnering and pairing with delicious accompaniments- Their Friends.

R.P. Davidson Cheese Factor

R.P. Davidson is a family owned and run traditional cheesemonger, based in Chesterfield. It was formed in 1960 by Roy Davidson, father of our proprietor, Simon, who until mid-2011 could still be seen assisting in the shop or on the outside counter in Chesterfield's historic market hall.

Products are sourced from all over Europe, with prime examples of British, French and other continental cheeses always available. The original emphasis on the more familiar British cheeses has developed considerably so that we can now offer a selection of over 65 varieties.
